The training program is 35 hours, and covers topics such as family dynamics, child abuse, monitoring and reporting about children’s welfare issues, Child Protective Services, the court’s role in protecting children, and communication skills. Volunteers who complete the training will be eligible to be sworn in as Advocates and matched with children in need.
