The Welcome Baby program was created in response to new parents’ requests for support and information about local resources for parents. Welcome Baby is a free service that is available to all expectant parents in western Nevada County.
Mission: To greet every new parent and baby in western Nevada County to provide links to other parents and resources during the first few weeks after delivery.
New parents in the program receive:
• A New Parents’ Kit containing DVDs, books and pamphlets with information especially designed for new parents
• Two home visits in the baby’s first six to eight weeks
• A newsletter at one, two, four, six, nine and 12 months
• The Welcome Baby Parent Resource Directory containing valuable information for families in western Nevada County
• Information on new parent support groups, such as “Baby & Me”
• Personalized assistance with community resources referrals
